By R. Subrata (TNI Siliguri) ~ Edited By Pradiptamay Saha (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 5th May, 2015: Online admission is going on in full swing at various colleges at Siliguri. As directed by the Higher Education Department of Government of West Bengal. All the colleges of Siliguri like other colleges in the state have introduced Online Admission system. Educationist Kushal Chakraborty from Maldah talked with TNI and said “This will usher in a new era in West Bengal’s education system apart from the benefits, which will be received by the respective college officials. Students will have an affinity in online systems among them. Though urban students are accustomed to this the real beneficiaries will be the rural students”. One of the parents of a candidate who have applied in Siliguri College is that “I think it has saved my Casual Leaves. I had to exhaust 3-4 day casual leaves from my office 4 years ago when I stood in the queue to collect forms for my elder daughter. This time my younger daughter has done it for herself”. So far so good the system is not totally flawless. A café owner has complained of system hang after every 1 hour of operation. “The service provider should have made the capacity more so that huge traffic can be handled at the same time.” Bishwajyoti Pal from Subhashpally said that he had applied for 3 colleges in 3 cities in the State for getting Physics honours.
